History


The Computer Center at Mahasarakham University was initially established as part of the Computer Service project in 1984 under the Higher Education Management plan of Administration office of Mahasarakham regional campus, Srinakharinwirot University. Later in 1992, the university incorporated the project to the 7th stage of education improvement plan (1992 - 1996) and renamed the project as Computer Service for Management Unit. The unit supported the computer needs in learning and teaching, and also provided computer trainings for students and university staff. Since then, the center has received annual government budgets.

Upon the University Act was declared on 7th December 1994, the university set independent from Srinakharinwirot University as authorized and announced in the 111th Royal Gazette section 54 dated on 8th December 1994. According to the 112th Royal Gazette section 21, Governmental units were implemented within the university including the Computer Center. With the structure set by the University Bureaucracy announced on 13th July 1995, the center has been set to include a secretary and started the operation since. The Computer Center office was originally located at the Computer Center building, Talad sub-district, Mueng Maha Sarakham, Maha Sarakham. After the university started to extend its campus to Khamriang sub-district, Kantarawichai, Maha Sarakham in 1998, the Computer Center moved the 1st floor of Science Service Building B in the new campus in November 2002. In the present, the current office is on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Wittayaborikan Building B, Khamriang sub-district, Kantarawichai, Maha Sarakham 44150 with the telephone number 0-4375-4350.
